Eco Church Prayers
We come before you Lord to pray for the well being of our planet. You know the full extent of the destruction we have wrought to your beautiful handiwork and what needs to be done to remedy it. We pray for people round the globe who suffer because of environmental damage, for defenceless creatures harmed or made extinct by our selfishness or ignorance.
Give us passion and wisdom to work effectively to restore your creation.
Bless this earth and all its life in every way,

You crown the year with goodness. You give us the fruits of the earth in their season.
Grant that we may use them for your glory, for the relief of those in need and for our own wellbeing.

The earth is Yours and You have commanded the winds and the sea. Help us to leave behind our consumer demands for plastics and move towards behaviours that are environmentally healthy, help us to follow Your lead in caring for the world you have.

Dear Lord.
We pray for the transformation of our carbon based economies. Give wisdom to our leaders and investors to plan a way forward and to force the pace of change.
Help us to play our part in steering the world towards a more sustainable future.

God of life,
We praise you for the beauty of creation, its richness and variety. Yet, through greed and ignorance we scar your world with plastic waste and throw so much away.
Help us to tread gently on this earth, our common home and breathe your Spirit on us so that we may care more deeply for Your Earth.
We ask this through Jesus our Lord.
